Our Philosophy
and Mission Statement
The purpose of Baxter Day Service Center is to provide developmentally disabled individuals with experiences
which will enable them to develop to their maximum mental, physical, and emotional potential -- to help them achieve the highest
degree of independence. An awareness and acknowledgement of individual needs of the developmentally disabled person is basic
to the philosophy of Baxter Day Service Center and steps are taken to meet these individual needs.
I. A support team is provided by the Center to assess and determine the needs of the individual, who is then encouraged
to achieve his maximum potential regardless of his mental ability, educational achievement, economic or ethnic background. II. Other supports, such as transportation and counseling, are provided to assist in meeting the individual's
needs in the manner most suitable for him or her as an individual striving to become more integrated into the community.
